About us

We shorten the distance between an idea and its market.

Ankara University TEKMER is a Technology Development Centre established within Ankara University and in active operation. Turning an idea into a product never happens in a single workshop: knowledge, mentorship, infrastructure and collaboration are all needed at once. TEKMER brings those four together under one roof.

  • Location

F Block, on the Ankara University campus

  • Status

An operating centre that holds the right to use the KOSGEB TEKMER name

  • Access

The university's laboratory network, academic expertise and technology transfer processes are open to ventures directly

  • Scope

Sector-agnostic: every team building technology, from artificial intelligence to health, from energy to agri-food

Definition

What is a TEKMER?

KOSGEB Technology Centre Support Programme

Technology Development Centres are centres established under KOSGEB's Technology Centre Support Programme that offer pre-incubation, incubation and post-incubation support so entrepreneurs can develop their ideas, turn them into products and take them to market.

  • Pre-incubation
  • Incubation
  • Post-incubation

Side by side

How a TEKMER differs from a technopark

TEKMER

Technology Development Centre

Technopark

Technology Development Zone

  • Focus

    TEKMER

Works with early-stage ventures and with people who still only have an idea.

    Technopark

    Hosts mature R&D companies.

  • Basis

    TEKMER

    Supported through the KOSGEB programme.

    Technopark

    Established under Law No. 4691.

The two complete each other: a venture is born in a TEKMER and can grow in a technopark.

Our aims

What was the centre set up to do?

  • Founding technology-based ventures
  • Commercialising academic knowledge
  • Developing R&D and innovation projects
  • Access to investment and finance
  • University–industry collaboration
  • Backing young entrepreneurs and researchers

Our vision

To be a technology centre where university knowledge becomes a product.

What that means in practice

  1. Knowledge leaves the shelf

Research produced at the university does not stop at publication; it becomes a product that reaches a user.

  2. Academics become founders

A researcher commercialising their own technology stops being an exception and becomes an established route.

  3. The regional economy gains

Every venture created comes back as employment, technology and export capacity.

Our mission

To equip teams at the idea stage with mentorship, training, infrastructure and ecosystem access, and turn them into market-ready ventures.

Four commitments carry it

  • Mentorship

Every venture is matched with a mentor experienced in its field; nobody walks the road alone.

  • Training

Gaps in business model, finance, law and marketing are closed through a scheduled training programme.

  • Infrastructure

Office space, laboratories and the prototype workshop are open from the first day.

  • Ecosystem

Contact with academia, industry, the public sector and investors is opened on the venture's behalf.

Our values

Four principles that decide how we work

  • Openness

The process, the criteria and the reasoning behind a decision are shared with the venture. What we look at in an assessment is never hidden.

  • Collaboration

Academia, industry and the public sector sit at the same table. A venture grows inside a network, not on its own.

  • Measurability

Every step has defined exit criteria. Progress rests on data, not on a feeling.

  • Continuity

Support begins with a programme but does not end at graduation. A graduate venture stays part of the ecosystem.

If any of this sounds like your work, the next move is yours.

Tell us your idea and where it stands today; we will work out together which support it needs first.
